A fun little exercise that's been floating around the interwebs recently. Basically you chart out a map of people and things that have influenced you artistically so you can refer to it if you ever hit a wall or something. It's quite interesting to see what has influenced other artists..

I may be missing a few major ones.. and the size-influence ratios are prolly off here and there but this pretty much covers it.

and here's a random sketch as it's been ages since any art has been posted here... I should probably invest in a new scanner.. or a new iPhone 4 that can take hdr photos..

A little something I've been working on here and there for the past little while. His shutter shades are suppose to be like a hologram but I'm not sure if that comes across clearly. Maybe we just need to put on some 3D glasses.

**UPDATE** Later that night, the bar we were at just so happen to be was less than a block away from Gretzky's torch route. We bolted outside and were right there as he turned the corner and passed us by. It was surreal.

Went and saw the torch relay as it passed through the Millennium Gate in Chinatown this morning. After thrusting my camera up into the air and snapping wildly I managed to score this shot. Definitely got the warm fuzzy feeling as the flame trotted along by. It's a good day to be a Vancouverite!
I wasn't able to catch Arnie bare the torch at Stanley Park this morning, but luckily my buddy Kevin did and he says this is an accurate portrayal of how it went down.

These were done within the last month or so. I'm beginning to think I'm stylistically schizophrenic.

On a completely unrelated note, are there any twitterfolk out there? I'm on as @jimmyly. I tend to post more random sketches on there than on this blog; mixed in with a healthy dose if inane musings of course.
As of late, it seems that the only twitterers who find me interesting are spambots who have naughty pictures. We need to fix this.
